Mentees

Mentees are first-year students who have a strong interest in receiving guidance from an older student, and want to be active members of the PAM community. Mentees find a group of friends with shared interests from the minute they step on campus. They receive assistance in adjusting to the university environment and overcoming the obstacles of the first semester from a fellow student who has been through the same experience.

Ideal mentees have a strong academic record, experience in leadership roles, and past involvement with organizations and extracurricular activities. First-year mentees are a racially diverse group and represent students from rural, suburban, and urban areas, as well as from other countries. The selection of first-year mentees is a competitive process, with applications due in June.  Strong consideration is given to students who demonstrate an appreciation for groups and programs that seek to give back.
